Goodbye Frosty!

Now, I hear there are some people out there that absolutely love the set "Frosty". I think he's cute, but it is definitely time for him to go! So here is one last card on the eve of Frosty's retirement.
Frosty and the words are stamped in white craft ink on eggplant cs and layered on white cs. I used my versamarker to "color" and shade part of Frosty. I used crystal effects and dazzling diamonds to add a little sparkle. Frosty and his layers are popped up on dimensionals and attached to an amethyst base that was stamped with white craft swirls and eggplant snowflakes. Goodbye Frosty! Bring on the new stuff!
stamps - Frosty, sentiment (TAC)
paper - almost amethyst, elegant eggplant, whisper white
ink - white craft, elegant eggplant, versamarker
acc - CE, dazzling diamonds, dimensionals
I'll be back this week with some swap sneak peeks and Christmas cards I received from some of my stamping friends. Have a safe and happy new year!

My Christmas Cards

Here are the cards I made this year for some of my stamping friends. I was trying to keep them flat to avoid paying extra postage, so no embellishments!

My husband says this card looks like the commercials for Food Network's Season's Eatings, but it's really inspired by a Pier 1 catalog.

stamps - Snowflake Spot, Polka Dot, All Holidays (I think)
paper - whisper white, chocolate chip, wild wasabi, real red
ink - wild wasabi, versamark
acc - corner rounder, white EP, circle cutting system (CM)

Acetate cards are difficult for me to photograph, but I used the swirl from Season of Joy on the background. You can't really tell as the card is slightly open, but there are two more layers to the focal point, another river rock and whisper white mat. I stamped the word background in river rock, then the tree in versamark and embossed in white. I finished with an outline of the tree with my Sakura Stardust gelly roll glitter pen.

stamps - Season of Joy
paper - acetate, river rock, whisper white
ink - river rock, versamark, white Stazon
acc - white EP, glitter gel pen

Thanks for stopping by - I hope you and your families have a very Merry Christmas!

Color Challenge Tuesday

I actually had this card done Tuesday, but am just now having a chance to upload. The color combo for the challenge at SCS was elegant eggplant, so saffron, and wild wasabi. This card is pretty simple and straightforward. I stamped the blooms in wasabi for the base, then again in eggplant and saffron on scraps. I embossed them with iridescent ice EP for some sparkle, cut them out, and popped them up with dimensionals. Thanks for stopping by!

stamps - True Friend, Celebrate Everything, Polka Dot
paper - so saffron, wild wasabi, elegant eggplant, whisper white
ink - so saffron, wild wasabi, elegant eggplant, versamarker
acc - iridescent ice, eggplant grosgrain, dimensionals

Sneak Peek!

I used two sets on this card that will be available from the new SU! catalog starting January 2. My copy of the new catalog should be on it's way, I hope it gets here soon! Or maybe not, I still have things to do! I finished my Christmas cards last night and got them in the mail today. Of course, I had to chase the mailman down the street in a bunch of snow to get them out, but they are out and that's what counts! So this is what I made today:

I started with a river rock base that measures 5 x 5. I stamped the flower from A Beautiful Thing in soft sky ink on white paper. The centers are stamped in guava and cut out (the 1" circle punch was too big), and the build-a-brad with river rock designer paper went on top. I used the corner rounder to create the guava scallop piece, as well as to round all the corners of my layers and base. I attached the guava scallop piece and soft sky designer prints paper, and tied a river rock knot around it. I attached the top layer to the chocolate piece, and attached the whole thing to my card base. I stamped "Good Times" in versamark on a chocolate scrap and embossed it with white powder and rounded the corners. I tucked it up under the river rock knot, and there you have it!

Thanks for stopping by, may you get everything done this week that you need to and still have time to stamp!

Goodbye and Hello

Say goodbye to the retiring "Hung Up On the Holidays" stamp set, and hello to the new Ginger Blossom designer series paper (available for purchase Jan. 2)!

Just a couple cards for your viewing pleasure! I had no specific purpose in mind for these, I was just stamping for fun.

I'm not sure about these candy canes, to me they seem to be facing the wrong way. It's always driven me nuts! And I stamped them too close together so there's a bit too much white space.

stamps - Hung Up On the Holidays, Season of Joy, Warm Words
paper - river rock, whisper white, ruby red, chocolate chip, Ginger Blossom dsp
ink - ruby red, chocolate chip, river rock
acc - river rock double-stitched grosgrain, corner rounder, 3/4" & 1" circle punches, chocolate chip marker, dimensionals

Color Challenge Tuesday

Sorry for the lack of posting lately. I have actually stamped a few things, but I can't show them to you yet. I want the recipients to see them first! My stamping time has shrunk significantly because work keeps scheduling me for 5 mornings/week instead of my normal 2-3. It should be back to normal in January, so bear with me.

I just got some new stuff yesterday, 2 days early, woohoo UPS! It was my order of preview stuff, and I used one set for my color challenge card today, so here it is:

The color challenge combo for today was rose red, pumpkin pie, and certainly celery. This set is called Mark the Date, and will be available for purchase beginning January 2. I hope they come out with a set that has all the months of the year in a matching font, but for now I used Short Order alphabet. Once again, not a great picture (it's 4 pm here, and almost completely dark out, boo). I stamped the calendar in pumpkin pie ink, and stamped off the dots to fill in the circles. I stamped the letters for March on scrap pieces in their respective colors, cut them out and attached to the calendar piece. I stamped the starburst for the highlighted day in rose red, cut out the circle, added a celery brad, and attached with a tiny piece of dimensional. I stamped the same starburst in rose red on the rose red piece, and then stamped the middle circle in pomegranate. They look like little bugs to me, haha! I taped the white and rose red pieces together and tied an olive ribbon around it. I stamped the Happy Birthday in versamark on a pumpkin scrap and embossed it in white. I punched it out and tucked it under the ribbon to finish it off!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!

Supplies: stamps - Mark the Date, Short Order alphabet paper - certainly celery, pumpkin pie, rose red, whisper white ink - certainly celery, pumpkin pie, rose red, versamark acc - olive grosgrain, soft subtles brad (celery), white EP, 1-1/4" circle punch

Featured Stamper Sunday

Please excuse my awful photos for the next, oh, 3 months as it will be gray outside until then! We had snow last night, but none of it stuck, and by this morning it was just a little slushy in places.

This card is for the weekly Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS. It's pretty easy, so I won't bore you with all the details. There are stickles on the snowflakes as I cannot make a snowflake card without some glitter these days!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!

Supplies: stamps - Season of Joy, Holidays & Wishes paper - sage shadow, basic gray, whisper white, wintergreen dsp ink - sage shadow, basic gray acc - charcoal taffeta ribbon, 1-1/4" circle punch, stickles
