I Really Do Love Pears

There's just something about pear stamps that I just love! Well, most fruit stamps I can't resist. Cherries, apples, strawberries, etc. Love them in stamps (and IRL too)!
So this is for CAS25 on SCS, a sketch from Krystie. This is one of my all-time fave sketches, and I use it ALOT, so this was no challenge for me!

Thanks for stopping by!

DTGD09 Meets ShortCuts Meets TSG

My friend Krystie is hosting one of the Dare To Get Dirty Challenges over on SCS, so of course I had to play along! The challenge was to use any type of clear element on your project. So I cut down an 8.5x11 piece of frosted acetate from ShortCuts to use as a layer. I am very happy that I was able to combine three "challenges" in one card: DTGD, TSG stamps, and ShortCuts product! Yay me!
Thanks for stopping by!

paper - kraft, vanilla, choc, jillibean soup, frosted acetate
ink - choc, olive

Shortcuts/TSG Gift Card Holder Folder

Here's another Shortcuts/TSG project - a gift card holder folder. These things are wonderful! All cut and scored for you, just fold it up and decorate. Doesn't get much easier than that! And there are several neutral colors to choose from.
Inside view:
The paper is October Afternoon, and I just stamped right on top of it using Nature of Friendship and Act of Kindness. The inside page with the bird also has some swirlies stamped in aqua mist that is hard to see, and there are tiny aqua mist flowers on the front too.
Thanks for stopping by!
stamps - Nature of Friendship, Act of Kindness, Cupcake Mix & Match
paper - OA, sweet blush, GCHF
ink - avocado, raspberry, aqua mist, black
acc - word window punch, pearl, black gingham ribbon

ShortCuts Meets TSG

All this week, ShortCuts is teaming up with TSG to show you some fabulous projects and products!

ShortCuts launched in June of 2008, the sister site to SheetLoad of Cards, is dedicated making your papercrafting quicker and easier. Everybody likes a short cut every now and then!

The first ShortCuts product, available for purchase since July 1, 2008, was Gift Card Holder Folders (GCHF).

The latest ShortCuts product, Clear & Frosted Card Blanks, will help you to make fabulous clear and frosted cards. Each of the stocks is made of a thick vinyl material. Think clear/frosted cardstock – none of that flimsy transparency material. Best of all the clear cards are fingerprint resistant. No more wearing white gloves while making your clear cards.

You can also purchase the Clear & Frosted material in Full Sheets (8.5” x 11”). Their ready-to-assemble-and-decorate products will help you create stunning creations in minutes.
Make sure to drop by their blog for lots of inspiration from their wonderful design team.

Two (2) lucky winners this week will each receive a $10 ShortCuts Gift Certificate!! Just add your name to the Mr. Linky at the end of this post on Jessica's blog and 2 winners will be chosen next Monday July 27th.

Want to try ShortCuts for yourself, while saving money at the same time?!?! Just visit their Online Store and enter the discount code “TSG15” during checkout and receive 15% off your order!! *15% will be taken off package price(s) only, not S/H charges. Orders must contain at least $5.00 in product, and be placed before September 1, 2009.

So I used a frosted card blank for this card. They are really cool! VERY sturdy, pre-scored, and did I mention just plain cool? I had to put it in a clear envelope to photog it.

Just a little note to pop in the mail to a friend. I'm working on some other stuff using ShortCuts products, so stop back again! Also, check out what the other girls have been doing with them (links on the left).
Thanks for stopping by!

Manly Birthday

***crossing my fingers that Blogger pre-scheduling is working again***

Today is my FIL and my son's birthdays. I am now the mother of a 3-year old, where did the time go? This card is for my FIL.
I took this color combo from SU's in color combination chart. The dots are clear embossed, and the basic idea for the dot background came from one of my fave CAS stampers, Lauren. Specifically, this card. If you aren't familiar with Lauren's stuff, go check it out now!

Thanks for stopping by, hope you had a great weekend!

FTL50 Meets TSG

This is the sketch Natasha has posted on the Clean & Simple blog, so I used it here too. I have another sample using this sketch posted over there, so check it out!
I white embossed a stem from Act of Kindness several times on different colors of scraps, then punched out various parts of them. I really like this color combo, I think it's cool! Soft suede is slowly growing on me.

Thanks for stopping by!

paper - soft suede, kraft, melon mambo, bermuda bay, old olive
ink - versamark

Welcome to Hip Hop Hangover!
This card didn't end up exactly as I envisioned it, but SOMEONE wouldn't take a nap, so I did what I could in a hurry! That background is the new Finial Press embossing folder from SU, I like it a lot more than I thought I would when I first saw it in the catalog. The stamps are from Unity's Birdie Inspiration, which has not seen nearly enough ink! I guess I need to stop buying and actually start using. It's so hard, though, when everyone keeps coming out with adorable stamps.

Thanks for stopping by!

stamps - Birdie Inspiration
paper - pacific point, kraft, baja, olive, curry, saffron, hibiscus
ink - curry, raspberry fizz, pacific point, fresh snow
acc - brads, dimensionals, nesties, copics

Unity Guest Designer Challenge, #3

This is the third (and final) entry I made for Unity's Guest Designer Challenge. I checked out the competition, and wow, it's stiff!
The sentiment is actually right underneath the birdcages on the stamp, but I covered up that part because I wanted to do something cool with the circles and words, and this is what the end result was. I did the ribbon by hand with lots of glue dots, wish I had a sewing machine for this one, lol!
Thanks for stopping by! I got my new SU catty order today so I'll be showing you a few things from that soon!
stamps - May KOM (Unity)
paper - vanilla, baja, celery, new leaf, cosmo cricket, choc patterns
ink - choc, celery, wasabi
acc - circle punches, red gg, green pearls, dimensionals

Unity Guest Designer Challenge #2

Here is my second entry in the Unity Guest Designer Challenge:
The bird and two pears represent the 3 circles in the sketch, and I cut them out, popped them up, and added glitter.

Hope you had a great holiday weekend! We had a cookout/bonfire/fireworks with the family, then tonight we had friends over for some poker and the movie Iron Man. I won the poker, yay beginner's luck, and I just love Iron Man!
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July, fellow Americans! I am so grateful for those who sacrificed and still sacrifice so that we can enjoy our great country. I love this country - God Bless America.

Enjoy Your Day!

Here is my first entry for the Unity Guest Designer Challenge. It's been awhile since I "entered" anything anywhere, so here we go. I stamped the mushrooms on kraft and colored them with copics. The ladybug "vine" is versamarked. My friend Lisa had the greatest tip and I used it here: flip over your polka dot In Color ribbon, and you have plain! Thanks Lisa!

Thanks for stopping by!

ink - memento, copics, versamark

Guess What?

I stamped!!! Yay! My little stinker finally took a nap today in his big boy bed. So as soon as I was sure he was asleep, I ran my little tush down to my stamp room and cranked out this card:
I stamped the flower in memento on the kraft, colored it with copics, and then outlined it with a white gel pen. This is a sympathy card that will be going to one of my friends.

And here is the little stinker with his reward for actually falling asleep:

Thanks for stopping by!

stamps - Bloom (TSG)
paper - lavender, kraft, eggplant, olive
ink - memento, copics, white gel pen
