Who Doesn't?

This card is a little smaller than normal, dictated by the size of scrap I had, lol! It's 3-1/2" x 4-3/4". And you can't go wrong with pinks/browns and ice cream!

I stamped the ice cream cone from Sweet Chocolate (My Cute Stamps) in memento ink and colored it with copics. I rounded two of the corners and adhered it on my base. I adhered the parenthesis on and then white-embossed the sentiment on chocolate paper and adhered it. A little button cherry tops it off.
Thanks for stopping by!

TV Inspired

I'm still here, friends! My desire to create has been non-existent this week, unfortunately. But I did get two cards made, I'll show you the other one tomorrow.
This card was inspired by a commercial on TV, but I can't remember what it was for! So here's a quick Christmas card:
Thanks for stopping by!

stamps - Teeny Tiny Wishes (I think?)
paper - white, avocado, olive, kiwi, spring moss, regal rose
ink - black

Congratulations is not only the title of this card, it's a pat on the back to me! All my Verve-sketching paid off and I won a stamp set at the release party last night, wooooohooooo! Now to pick one, hmmmm. Tough choice!

Anyway, this card actually turned out mostly how I envisioned it, love when that happens. I stamped the branches from Ashley's Blossoms (My Cute Stamps) in black on a lemon tart card base, stamped the birdcage in black on vellum, cut it out and adhered it over a kiwi circle to highlight the bird that is clear embossed. A few rhinestones and some piercing with one of my new templates adds finishing details. I struggled for a bit as to where the sentiment would go, then hit upon curving it over the top. Yessssss!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by! We are headed off to a clam bake tonight, yum!
paper - lemon tart, kiwi kiss, vellum, real red
ink - black, ripe avocado, pure poppy
acc - doodling template, rhinestones, circle punch

Verve Sketches, Part Two

Here are the last three Verve sketches:
The circle around the sentiment was pierced using a template I got from Taylored Expressions. It's called Dots All Around by the Crafter's Workshop. It looks like TE is out of them as I don't see it in the store. I was totally enabled by the TE design team last weekend, lol!
I used the free digital download Winter Mittens for this last sketch.
It's only available through today, so go get yours now!
I didn't have a spot to put the sentiment on the front that I was happy with,
so I actually decorated the inside! (a little bit)
The effect on the mittens was created using beadable embossing tape and
sugar dust, which is like micro-micro beads. Very cool stuff!

Have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by!

Verve Sketches, Part One

This is Verve's release week, so that means sketch challenges! And since I had no other deadlines this week (I can't remember the last time THAT was the case, yay!), I decided to play along. There are 5 sketches, and I am just about done with the last one. So here we go with the first two: I created my own snowflake patterned paper and added stickles to them.

The body and hat of the pumpkin are cut out, popped up, and covered in CE.
Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow with more Verve sketches!

Baby Shower Decor

My friend Diana and I collaborated on the decorations and such for a mutual friend's baby shower. Check out her pics, they turned out better than mine. I should have used the macro setting on a few more of them, oh well. Our theme was "Sweet Baby" and the color scheme was black/white/celery or apple green.

First up is the invitation I put together with inspiration from TomKat Studio on Etsy.
Here was our focal wall: yes, those are 36" balloons, pretty cool!
The AMAZING diaper cake: bought from Etsy
I made the medallion on the middle layer.

A bowl full of mints in mini sour cream containers:

Nice backdrop for pictures during present opening.

Table settings:
Centerpieces with different baby-themed frames:

Chocolate bar favors: Diana did the wrappers in
various patterns, and I did the packaging, also in
various patterns.

It was a grand time for all!

Man Birthday

Hi friends, hope your week is off to a great start! I've got grand stamping plans this week, hopefully the planets will align so that it actually happens, lol!

I made this for my dad's birthday a couple months ago. I got the idea from a magazine. Great way to use up scraps!

Thanks for stopping by!

FTL 64

This is Fall-to Layout 64 for this weekend from the Clean and Simple blog. As I commented over there, six colors CAN be done on a CAS card. It's more like three colors because they work in pairs: the two blues, the two browns, and the splash of complimentary friends purple/green on the color wheel.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!

stamps - Beautiful Blooms, Everyday Classics (PTI), Worn Music (Unity)
paper - bermuda bay, cool caribbean, sahara sand, soft suede, rich razzleberry, kiwi kiss

Girl Talk

Last one made for TESC #86, thanks for hanging in there with me!

Patterned paper is October Afternoon, and colors are gray, olive, kiwi, and razzleberry.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Harvest

Another TESC #86 card. I used the herringbone embossing folder, colored the image with copics, and made paper buttons since I didn't have the exact right buttons I wanted. Since the stamps are clear and flexible, I was able to curve the sentiment on my block before stamping, and I really like the small touch it gives!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Wishes

I'm really loving this color combo lately! The sketch is TESC #86. The kraft layer is embossed with swiss dots, and the middle flower is popped up on dimensionals. I used my photo corner punch to notch the ends of the avocado strip and added spring moss bow and sentiment. Stamps are Spunky Nature and Sweet Chocolate by My Cute Stamps.

Pink Cat Sneak Peek, Day 2

Yesterday was all about Betty, now for Bobby! Here he is dressed up as a cute gingerbread boy. This whole card is chocolate cardstock, my pic just makes the bottom look black. I used liquid pearls for the frosting and CE on the candy cane. The green frame is popped up on dimensionals with the sentiment stamped inside the "window".
And here's blonde Bobby carrying a stack of presents. I pieced the presents and added liquid applique to his trim.
Thanks for stopping by! Let's go see what the other designers are peeking!

Pink Cat Sneak Peek, Day One

Hi, and welcome to another Pink Cat Release Sneak Peek! The latest set from Pink Cat Studio is called Itty Bitty Christmas. Itty Bitty Betty and Bobby are back for some cute Christmas fun!

Here Betty is a sparkly fairy. I used Liquid Applique on her hat and dress trim, heat set it, and applied shimmerz on top for bling. There is also shimmerz on the main part of her hat, the inside of her wings, her stockings and wand. I used some small Zva crystals coming out of her wand, and punched a snowflake out of vellum and attached it with a button on the sentiment layer. There is a row of piercing along the bottom of the card. This layout was inspired by Amy Rohl, and I just love how my version turned out!
And here Betty is a Christmas tree. I used my gold sakura glitter pen on her stars.
So head on out and see what other sneak peeks the amazing design team and guests have for you!
Jodi Ann, Lauren, Lise, Maria, Mariska, Sarah, Vicki, Mackenzie Bruckler (guest), and Tracey Cuccia (guest).
We have one more day of sneak peeks tomorrow, and then the stamp set will be released on Wednesday.

WCMD Leftovers, Part 2

This card features stamps from PTI, one of my most favoritest stamp companies. I had to wait to put the finishing touch on this card, the piercing. The tip of my piercer broke off during my last stamp class a few weekends ago, and my new one finally arrived this week, yay! I know, it's pathetic, I couldn't even find a pin to make do! This layout is from the SU catty.

WCMD Leftovers, Part 1

I made this as part of my quest to use stamps from my favorite companies leading up to WCMD, but I ran out of days. I used CHF's Kim Hughes stamps for this card, a case of this card by Amy Rohl. Love her designs!

Inspired by Australia

Challenge #4 was to be inspired by one of two Australian art traits. I chose dotted outlines.

Be back later with details!

Inspired by Mexico

Challenge #2 was to be inspired by the art/culture of Mexico. I found a gorgeous picture of Mexican tile in all shades of blue for my inspiration piece.

Be back later with details!

Inspired by Japan

Papertrey Ink had 4 challenges for WCMD, so hold onto your hats! These had to be uploaded by 7am Tuesday, so details will be added later.

Challenge #1 was to be inspired by the art/culture of Japan. I love the browns, red, and ivories found in some Japanese artwork, so that was my inspiration for this card.

Be back later with details!

Inspired by India

Challenge #3 was to be inspired by the Indian use of rhinestones/jewels. I used them for my butterfly body. I used rich jewel colors also.

Be back later with details!
