TSG Sneak Peeks, Day 1

Thanks so much for all your kind comments yesterday! I swear, my online friends are the best. DH just doesn't get it like you guys do, lol!

Today I am showing you a sneak peek from the new set called Blessings. It is beautiful! There are two separate challenges at the end of this post, so check them out!

I stamped the background with the Celtic knot, embossed the cross, and added some dew drops as a finishing touch. I had a horrible time trying to get a decent picture of this, the chocolate cardstock kept looking washed out. This is the best of about 15 attempts in all sorts of settings!

Challenge 1 - This month's TSG challenge is to BLING IT OUT! So bring out your rhinestones, glitter, sparkle pens, stickles and everything else that you can use to bling out your card. Use TSG stamps and you will be entered to win a free NEW RELEASE stamp set! You have until Saturday 12:00 AM Est. to get those challenge projects in! Please use the keyword TSG04 and enter your name and link to your card using Mr. Linky on this post on Jessica's blog.
Challenge 2 - Blog Hop Challenge- Want to win your own "Blessings" set? Just leave a comment on EACH of the Trendsetters blogs. When you are finished, go back to Jessica's blog and enter your name in the appropriate Mister Linky box. You have until 12:00 AM Saturday to get the Blog Hop Challenge comments in as well as the TSG challenge. Good luck!
Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow!
Supplies:
stamps - Blessings
paper - choc, avocado, kiwi, kraft
ink - choc, avocado, versamark

Can You Believe It???

Look who asked me to be on their design team!!!!! I am beyond thrilled! I just got the next release in the mail, and sneak peeks start Wednesday, so stop on back!

And check out who is joining me on the team, wow! I can't believe I'm in this group!

New Trendsetters:
Christi Thorsen
Jessie Rone
Joanne Grzelak
Jodi Collins
Julie Lacey

Returning Trendsetters:
Angela Jones
Faith Hofrichter
Holly McMillen
Jessica Knutsen
Maki Jones
Silke Ledlow

Now for some fun: Last week each DT member (not the newbies) posted a question on their blogs, and it was this: "If you could ask the DT one question, what would it be?" The DT member then picked her favorite questions from the responses. Jessica assembled them all and asked us to answer. So here are my answers!

1. What do you typically start a project with? What's picked first: stamps, embellishments, DP, colors.....? It changes all the time, but it's usually either stamps or a sketch.

2. Do you give away your cards, sell them, send them or hoard them? Or all of the above?? All of the above! I keep them in a box, then if my mom needs cards she comes and picks out what she wants. Though almost all of my birthday cards get sent.

3. If you could design your own stamp or stamp set, what would it be? I have a great idea for a sentiment set that I would love to see made into stamps!

4. Where do you get your inspiration? From fellow stampers.

5. How do you balance your stamping time with your personal time/work/kids/etc.? I only have one kid right now, and I am not working outside the home at the moment. So I stamp when he naps in the afternoon as my space is in the not-so-kid-friendly-cave-of-a-basement.

6. What is your favorite embellishment? Right now, buttons. But ribbon is right up there!

7. What is something that not a lot of people know about you? Hmmm, I just filled out a 25 Random Things About Me note on Facebook, so now everybody knows everything about me, lol! My online friends probably don't know that I play the piano, took lessons for 10 years when I was younger.

8. On average how long does it take to create one of these fabulous cards we see each week?? I don't think I've ever timed myself, but I would say 30-40 minutes depending on if I had a good start on an idea in my head.

9. What is your favorite coloring medium? Copics!

10. What time of day do you prefer to do your creating? Usually afternoon, but I stamp at night, too, sometimes after the boy goes to bed.

I'm off to see everyone else's answers, thanks for stopping by!

Pink Cat Studio Release Day!

Today's the day! Enchanted Lily is being released, and here is sneak peek number 3: Again, there is lots of shimmerz on Lily, this time her wings are painted in pumpkin. Her headband is filled in with a black glaze pen, but it was IN YOUR FACE dark, so I toned it down with a clear glitter pen. It helped a bit. To get the two-toned look on her wings, I just added a second coat of the pumpkin shimmerz on the outside ring. The middle of her flower wand is stickled also.

And here is the whole Enchanted Lily set:
Thanks for sharing the sneak peeks with me, I appreciate all your comments! Don't forget to see the rest of the team's creations, they have been amazing!

Pink Cat Studio Sneak Peeks Day 2

Enchanted Lily Sneak Peeks, Day 2. Enchanted Lily will be available for purchase on Feb. 23.

I forgot to mention yesterday that February's guest designer for Pink Cat Studio is Suzanne Dean, so be sure to stop by and see her sneak peeks too!

(Please excuse the watermark over the words, shoulda put it elsewhere, oops!) It reads: thanks fairy much, and I highlighted fairy with a copic. Lily is colored with copics, and I added LOTS of shimmerz as you can see by the second picture. This set just calls for lots of bling and glitter and shimmer and fun stuff!

And here's Lily on a lily, how about that! If you look at the second picture you can kind of tell, but I stamped the lily on vellum, colored it with copics from the underside, and pieced it on. I think it gives it a nice subtle, frosty look. Really, I had to do it because I didn't have the right color of copic that I wanted to use! I did remedy that, but it is too late for this peek, lol! Again her wings are covered with Angel Wings Shimmerz. Stickles make her flower wand just sparkle!

Thanks for stopping by, check out the rest of the team's peeks!

From the Stash

Sorry I've been MIA the last few days. I have nothing new to show you, so I pulled out this card that I sent to my friend Lisa for her birthday last week. I thought it turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself, lol!
I colored the owl and branch with copics, and added some red glitter pen along the eyes for some glitz. The owl is cut out and popped up on the branch.

So my stamping time has disappeared the last few days as my poor sister had to have an emergency appendectomy this week, so I've been out being with her. I hope to stamp today because tomorrow I have to take her to a bridal shower. I have deadlines coming up, so hopefully I will get a lot accomplished!

February Limelight Project Parade

This month's Project Parade was to create a Valentine for a friend, with a matching card. I bought a couple of mailboxes at Target 2 years ago when they were all the craze, and they've been sitting in my stash since. So this was the perfect time to use one of them. This Valentine is going to my niece at college.

I cut a 4x12 strip of Coredinations Cherry Cordial cardstock, embossed with the swiss dots, sanded the raised dots, and adhered it to the mailbox with mono multi. I attached a tailored bow of pink scalloped edge ribbon with sticky strip. The paper on the front is the same coredinations cardstock, the name is spelled with Sassy Alphabet, and rose and snow pearls finish it off, along with a heart cut from Bittersweet paper.

Full front view: Inside view:

And this is the matching card:

It uses many of the same ingredients, but I added Bittersweet buttons.
