Last post for today!

I know, this blog has been hot with posting this week, don't worry I'll give you a break this weekend.

So how cute is this little guy? I am obsessed with all things birds and trees lately. This owl is actually cut out from Kaisercraft's What a Hoot line - On the Prowl. I popped him up on dimensionals on a kraft strip, added a sentiment from the revamped Mix-up of Cuteness by Unity. I punched out a label from moss cardstock, ala Lisa, and stuck it out the end of the kraft strip. I mounted it on Wise patterned paper from the same KC line. The card base is chocolate chip. The button is vintage white from PTI, with a snippet of brown satin ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!

TSG Sneak Peek Day 2

Today's peek is from the set called "A-Z and 1,2,3". It's a great all-around alphabet set with numbers, symbols, and two circles. I used the circles with the new gridline acrylic block that TSG will now be carrying to create a fun background. I also used the small dot/period to make the green background.
I thought these colors were summery, hence my sentiment. I used some clear page pebbles on random circles (they fit perfectly, btw) for a fun touch.

Random.org picked comment #6 - stampininthesun (Erin) - as the winner of the $15 TSG blog candy! Congrats Erin! I will forward your info to Jessica. Enjoy your new set!

TSG Sneak Peek, Day 1

There are 3 new sets plus some other fun stuff that Jessica is releasing this month, so stay tuned! Today's peek is from a set called She's a Lady.
I stamped the single rose on a ruby background with riding hood red ink, then took my blender pen and added a little fill-in to the flowers. The black panel is embossed with swiss dots, and the saying says "A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous." I colored and cut out another flower to go on top of the ribbon knot. In this close-up, you can see that this is no plain red shoe! It is patent leather with a poofy flower! I popped up the flower and added glitter to it.

Want to win this set? Simply comment on all the Trendsetters' blog posts for She's a Lady, then head to Jessica's blog and put your name in the appropriate Mr. Linky spot. You do not have to have a blog to play along, you can also use the URL of your favorite online craft gallery!

I Didn't Forget . . .

I made this for a friend who had a birthday recently, and it still hasn't made it into the mail box. Ooops. The inside reads: I wanted to make your birthday last longer. Teehee! That weird dark reddish thing is really just a piece of red cardstock, but my photo program does weird things to red when I try to enhance the pics. I added some crystal effects to the body and tail of the snail.

Lily at the Beach Sneak Peek Day 1

Welcome to day one of Lily at the Beach! I know I say this every month, but these stamps are just adorable!
So first up is Lily with her innertube:
I found this Doodlebug Design paper in my stash, it's OLD, but was perfect for this set.
I didn't have yellow dew drops, so I punched 1/4" circles of yellow cs and put the dew drops
on top of them. I also used yellow stickles on the flower centers.
Close-up, I used crystal effects on the tube:
And now Lily riding on her turtle friend:

I cut Lily and Turtle Friend out after I colored the image, and it is popped up on dimensionals.
Isn't that paper cool? I love it! I got a couple designs from this line,
you'll see one later this week.

One more card (for now) using My Cute Stamps. Any gardeners out there that can tell me what the onion-y thing is called?
I stamped some flowers, stems, and a ladybug on a raspberry base with versamark. I cut a window out of soft sky and popped it up over the "fruity thing". The ribbon is new leaf, to match the paper I embossed the sentiment on, and it really does match in real life! Three dew drops finish it off.

Limelight Project Parade

Limelight Celebrates Earth Day! Earth Day is right around the corner (and Arbor Day, too), so let's go GREEN! Our challenge was to make a project using recycled packaging, stamp some trees (there are LOTS at Limelight), make a seed packet pouch... Whatever!

So I recycled a snack box and made this treat packaging:
I started by cutting off the top and smaller sides of the box and trimming it to 4-1/2" x 6". I covered the printed sides with paper, and this becomes the inside. I cut a window in the front with my rectangle nestabilities. I stamped a tree and bird, cut them out, and glued them to the new front which used to be the inside of the box. I added the sentiment and a couple buttons. I took a clear cello bag and put some green bunny peeps inside, then used my cropadile to punch two holes in the top. The ribbon goes through the bag as well, keeping it in place. I thought the bunny peeps were perfect for my "forest scene", lol!

Inside view:
Side view:

Front view minus peeps:
Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to see what the rest of the chicks made!
Supplies:
stamps - Giggle Grove
ink - memento
acc - offbeat buttons, brown satin ribbon, white crochet thread, clear cello bag, peeps

Cupcake For Your Thoughts

Happy Weekend! Here's another card I made using the new TSG set, Cupcake Mix & Match.
I started with a layout from Dawn McVey. I stamped the cupcake tier in chocolate palette ink and did a quick wash over the cupcakes with an aquapainter and chocolate ink. I stamped and cut out the main cupcake, and frosted it with brown liquid applique. It goes on a nice dark chocolate color, but turns to this dogfood color when you heat it. I colored, cut out, and glued on a little flower accent.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
stamps - Cupcake Mix & Match
paper - choc, hibiscus burst, melon berry, new leaf, white
ink - memento and palette, copics, choc
acc - corner rounder, brown liquid applique, dimensionals, new leaf gg

More Enabling

Blog hopping and surfing really is dangerous. I came across My Cute Stamps, and what do you know, I now own 2 of those sets! They really do live up to the name.
I stamped the leaves in avocado, chocolate embossed the sentiment on ocean tides, rounded the corners, and added a bow of plum pudding with a button of melon berry.

I worked all day yesterday for my friend Diana who is a fantastic interior designer/real estate stager/redesigner. We staged a house to hopefully sell fast. I enjoy learning from her, and she likes having an extra pair of hands to unload a truck of furniture and accessories! If you are into home decor and such, you MUST check out her website (especially the link under the Lake Erie Living magazine to see her house decorated for Christmas) and her blog (lots of tips and pics and fun stuff!).
Don't forget, the new TSG releases are now available for you to buy, check it out HERE.
Thanks for stopping by, keeping my fingers crossed that my computer escapes that major virus supposed to hit today!
Supplies:
stamps - Mega Mixed Messages (PTI), Spunky Nature (MCS)
paper - white, ocean tides
ink - avocado, versamark
