TSG New Releases Sneak Peek

First off, the release challenge: This months challenge is going to be sort of a color challenge. You are to use black, white and only only color (or at least monochromatic scheme of one color) NO other colors allowed. If uploading your card to SCS, please use the keyword TSG08. Challenge is open from Friday-Sunday. Winner will be chosen on Monday, receives their choice of one of the new stamp sets. Link your card in the Mr. Linky box on Jessica's blog. Full details can also be found there.

Okay, onward we go: today the Trendsetters are showing sneak peeks of two set being released at There She Goes this month, Rejuvenate and Act of Kindness.
I scored the red background to mimic tile, and the bubbles are clear embossed to make them stand out more.
I stamped the stem trio in black directly on the patterned paper, I think it looks pretty cool like that!
Okay, today is the only day we are doing the blog hop challenge, so head over to Christi's blog next. Once you have commented on all the blogs, go to Jessica's and leave your name in the appropriate Mr. Linky box. Two winners will be chosen. Good luck!
Okay, I think that's everything! Thanks for stopping by!

Sending Happy Thoughts

The inspiration for this card came from one of my reuseable shopping bags. I love finding inspiration everywhere, what's the strangest place you ever found inspiration?
I embossed the flowers on avocado, raspberry, and sunrise paper, punched them out, and added chocolate centers with a clear page pebble on top. I hand drew the white box with the help of my trusty ruler (sentiment was stamped first). I pierced a row on the bottom because it just seemed so empty!

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
stamps - Beautiful Blooms (PTI), March KOM (Unity)
paper - kraft, avocado, raspberry, sunrise
ink - versamark, choc
acc - white ep, circle punch, clear page pebbles, white gel pen, mat pack & piercer

Fave Layout, Take 100?

I hope all my US readers had a nice Memorial Day, remembering those who have served and continue to serve so we can have the freedom we enjoy. We had a nice day, the weather was pleasant, we got stuff done around the house, and enjoyed a cookout with too much food and our family.

I just love the ease and simplicity of this layout, so I used it AGAIN. I stamped the flowers in vintage cream ink on raspberry fizz cs, added chocolate centers, a sunrise ribbon, added the sentiment, and popped it up on dimensionals on a shimmery poison ivory card base. How's that for a card in a nutshell, lol!

Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies:
stamps - Everyday Classics, Beautiful Blooms (both PTI)
paper - poison ivory, choc, raspberry
ink - vintage cream, choc
acc - dimensionals, summer sunrise ribbon

Pink Cat Studio Challenge

This month's PCS challenge is brought to you by Jodi:
The challenge is to create a card using basic geometric shapes. Your card must be rectangular in shape and you must use 2 different patterned papers, one cut in the shape of a circle and the other in the shape of a square. So we have a rectangle, a circle and a square. You must also use a Pink Cat Studio stamp as the main image for the card. You can use stamps from other companies as well. So these are the minimum requirements for the card. You can add more shapes and papers as well as any embellishments you would like, so the possibilities are endless.Date the challenge ends: Sunday May 31st, 5 pm EST.

Melissa has the full details on her blog.

New Stuff

My friend Lisa and I had a conversation this week about the new stuff we ordered recently, and she said she wanted to see some of it in action. So Lisa, this is for you! This is a take on Natasha's FTL 42. I added little black pearls to the ends and tip of the umbrella. The dp is from Cosmo Cricket (Early Bird) and the stamps are from PTI (Scattered Showers). Technically, Scattered Showers was from last month's PTI order, but it still counts as new because I haven't gotten it inky yet. And this month's PTI order should be here any day. My hubby always complains because I get packages and he never does, and I told he just has to start stamping and the packages magically start coming in the mail! He declined, shocker.

I knew I was getting low on my beloved kraft cardstock and went ahead and ordered some the other day. Well, I actually counted my sheets today, and I have only TWO left! Good thing some more is on the way, or you would be hearing my shouts of horror from over here! Note to self: keep better track of most important cardstock.
Anyway, hope your holiday weekend is wonderful. Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies:
stamps - Scattered Showers (PTI)
paper - kraft, blue bayou, saffron, Early Bird
ink - black
acc - dimensionals, black pearls (Kaisercraft), scallop edge punch, pure poppy ribbon, mat pack & piercer

This was one of the cards we made at my stamp class this past weekend. I'm still trying to clean up, haven't stamped in 3 days! Plus new rubber showed up at my door yesterday, so I hope to stamp this afternoon.
I just love these darling pears! My class attendants commented on the retro-ness of the color scheme. This is also one of Natasha's clean and simple layouts, #41 I think.

Thanks for stopping by!

ink - kiwi, choc

TSG Saturday

Yes, I am still here! It was nice to have an unplanned break from blogging, as dictated by the mojo. I'm still catching up a bit on google reader-ing though. So this card is doing double-duty here and on the Clean & Simple blog. This is Natasha's Fall-to Layout 42. It was just what I needed to help jump start the mojo.
I used some of my favorite patterns from October Afternoon and created a travel mug. You know those really cute ones you can find now? I love them, even though I don't drink coffee! I'm happy with how this turned out, hopefully the mojo is on it's way back.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your weekend is going great!

Supplies:
stamps - Mix & Match Cupcake, Let's Get Together (both TSG)

Celebrate Today

This card is going in my anniversary/wedding card stash. I really like how it turned out! I envisioned a similar card in my head, with different colors, so maybe I'll try that next.
To make the "ruffled" paper edge, I took a strip of paper (1 x 11") and scored at 1, 2, 2-1/2, 3-1/2, 4, 5, 5-1/2 inches, etc. This gave me the 1/2" pleat you see here. Hope that makes sense. The whole main panel is popped up on dimensionals.

Thanks for popping in today!

Supplies:
stamps - Tea Time Toile (Unity), Mega Mixed Messages (PTI)
paper - melon berry, baja, choc
ink - rust, choc
acc - olive gg, dimensionals, oval punch

CAS Challenge Card

I didn't stamp all weekend. No motivation or desire. How sad is that!?! And boy, did I pay for it today! I didn't like one single thing I made. But this one turned out okay, so here you go. This week's CAS challenge was to use the rock 'n' roll technique. I used lemon tart and summer sunrise inks for my large polka dots using this technique.
I loved how Dawn McVey used the top note die recently, so I tried it too. This card is actually 4-1/4 x 5 inches.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
stamps - Green Thumb, Scattered Showers (both PTI)
paper - new leaf, choc, white, sunrise
ink - lemon tart, summer sunrise, hibiscus, choc
acc - photo corner punch, BG button, top note die

HMD

Happy Mother's Day to all of you who are or dream of being a mother. I hope you have a wonderful day! Mine is nice and relaxing, brunch, off to do some stamping.

I also want to wish happy birthday to my friend Krystie. She is a queen of clean and simple stamping, so if you haven't seen her stuff yet, you must RUN over to cupcake martini right now!!! Happy Birthday, my friend! I used to swap over on SCS, and if I saw Krystie's name on the list, I'd join. That way I knew I'd get at least one card I would love!

Spring

Thank you all for the nice birthday wishes, I had a nice relaxing day! Topped it off by seeing Wolverine. Every year around my birthday, a super hero/comic book movie comes out, and that is always one of my presents. Lucky for DH, I happen to like most of them, lol!
This card was for another Unity Anniversary Challenge, and it had to do with the letters in FIRST. It had to include a Flower, Insect, Ribbon, Scallops, and Turquoise/Teal. And I ended up with this bright concoction.

Hope you had a great weekend, happy Monday!

Supplies:
stamps - Flirty Flowers, Birds of a Feather, Distressed Dots (all Unity)
paper - turquoise, new leaf, lemon tart, white
ink - memento, copics, turquoise, summer sunrise

Unity Color Challenge

Unity celebrated their first birthday this week, and I was able to complete all of the card challenges! This one was hosted by Jen Buck, and it was a color challenge: kraft, baja, ruby, and saffron. The trees are pieced, and I added a little more color with a copic marker.
I hope you are having a great weekend! I am, it's my birthday! We pretty much celebrated last night, my mom made stuffed shells, Italian flatbread, strawberries with chocolate cool-whip, and my favorite: chocolate sour cream cake. Yummy! And the best part is we are eating leftovers today, lol! I got some cash that will be used to further my stamp collection, like I don't have enough.

Thanks for stopping by!

stamps - Tiny Giggle Grove, Flirty Flowers, Tea Time Pattern
paper - kraft, ruby, baja, saffron
