Stocking Tag and Looking Back and Ahead

It seems like everybody is making tags, so I got on the bandwagon, but just for this one.  (There are oreo truffles in the bag, YUMMMM!)

I know I post and then keep disappearing on you, but I'm trying to change that, I really am!

Just a few thoughts looking back and ahead:

1.  I am thankful for a healthy family.  Chad continues to be cancer-free, my little boy is healthy, funny, and sweet (usually), and our new baby girl is healthy, smiley, and happy too!

2.  In spite of the economy and unemployment rates, my hubby was able to get a new and MUCH BETTER job, for which we are very thankful.

3.  I have a few goals for next year: getting back to a regular stamping and blogging and commenting schedule, cleaning out the basement (which includes my stamp space), selling my unused stamp supplies instead of leaving them sitting in boxes, reclaiming some of my kitchen cabinets that just have STUFF in them, and completing my cookbook project.

There.  Now my goals are in writing for all the world to see, so now I HAVE to accomplish them, lol!  Thanks for stopping by, a happy and healthy new year to you and your family!

Supplies:
stamps - none
paper - old olive, simply chartreuse, pure poppy, white, scenic route pp

Richly Blessed

Better get busy posting some Christmas cards I've made, lol!  I just can't believe how fast Christmas is coming up on us, yikes.  I am just about ready, have to wrap stuff.  Anyway, I got a few new things from Verve, and I used this beautiful sentiment from Richly Blessed.  The layout is an old fave.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Baby Tag

Hello, friends!  Happy snowy day to you!  I made this tag for a baby shower I attended a week ago.
I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel as far as my return to stamping goes.  Baby girl is 4 months old now and sleeping through the night as well as taking at least one good nap a day.  So hopefully you will be seeing more of me as time goes on.

Here are my two munchkins all decked out for Christmas AND the all-important Ohio St/Michigan game.  Thanks for stopping by!

Verve WCMD #1

Verve posted 5 sketches around WCMD and I managed to get all 5 done!  This is my favorite of the bunch:
I haven't stamped in what feels like ages, and frankly it feels like I'm never going to get to again.  Baby girl is a good baby and sleeping very well at night, but that means catnaps during the day.  She falls asleep fine, but as soon as I attempt to put her down, she wakes up.  Grrrrr!  About the only thing I manage to get done each day is make dinner.  Which hubby thinks is the most important thing, lol!  I hope she gets into a daytime nap routine soon.

Thanks for stopping by!

Elegant Wedding Card

We have a wedding to go to this weekend, and my mom was kind enough to come over and watch the kids so I could sneak away and get a card made.
I do have more stuff to share, I just haven't been motivated to blog.  Or comment.  My reader had over 460 items last I checked.  I've got the worst cold I think I've ever had.  It's horrible.  All the super-immunity I had while pregnant is gone, unfortunately.
Anyway, have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
stamps - Damask Designs, Giga Guidelines
paper - black, cream
ink - black
acc - black satin and crochet lace ribbon, nesties, black pearls, dimensionals, corner chomper

It'll Be Okay

This card was my submission for MFT's guest designer challenge.  It was a color challenge to use aqua, raspberry, and lime green, with yellow optional.  I covered this cutie's raincoat, boots, and umbrella with crystal effects and put the big flower as her background.  But alas, it wasn't enough to win.

I did get some good stamping time in lately, so I have stuff to share in the coming days, woohoo!

Papertrey Posse Challenge

I finally got a chance to play along with this month's PTI Posse challenge.  Suzanne challenged us to pull out a new or neglected stamp set and put it to use.  I got Through the Trees before the baby was born, so it has been neglected for weeks.  I made a simple card with it:

Total CASE

I totally CASE'd Dawn McVey here for my mother-in-law's birthday card.  I just switched the colors and sentiment.  My stamping time is extremely limited, so right now it's just easier to shamelessly CASE to cut down on prep time, lol!
The card base here is smokey shadow, but it always photos as black.  I really love how these colors look together.

Have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
stamps - All About You
paper - smokey shadow, soft stone patterned paper, white, pear pizzazz
ink - fresh snow
acc - mat stack 4, nesties blooms, little leaves die, raspberry felt and ribbon, button, dimensionals

Wedding Card & a Buttercup

I made this card for a wedding we attended in June for a former student of mine.  Makes me feel old, lol!

I had a chance to stamp yesterday, but I had no mojo.  Ugh, I hate that!  I should have just cleaned up my area, but I tried to force the stamping and it wasn't working AT ALL.

Here's my little buttercup, at one month old:
Nothing like baby smiles to melt your heart!  Thanks for stopping by.

Thank You

Well, Annika is almost 2 weeks old now, and we are doing very well.  She is sleeping in 4 hour chunks at night, which makes a HUGE difference for mommy!
My next several posts are going to be stuff that I stamped previously and hadn't shared yet.  One of my friends was amazed that I was "stamping" already, and I had to admit that I'm not that much of a supermom, lol!
Thanks for stopping by!

Shower Card and Gift, and a Baby Girl

This is the framed invitation I made to match the real one I showed you previously, and the matching shower card.  The bride evidently loved it, as I wasn't there to see her open it.

This card is totally cased from Dawn McVey, I just switched the colors.

The reason I missed the bridal shower was because my baby girl came!  My doctor took pity on me and induced me last Friday morning.  The pitocin started at 6:30, and she was born at 12:05.  I know, don't hate me.

Wedding Invitations

I mentioned previously that I made 150 wedding invitations for a friend.  They turned out beautiful, but I am glad they are DONE!

It started as a 22-lb. box of paper:

continued with lots of printing, cutting, scoring, folding, glue-ing, and assembling:

add some ribboning:
and this is what you get:
The paper is all shiny and pretty, from Paperworks Stardream Text and Cover lines.  I had the 12x18 sheets custom cut to 6x18, then scored, folded and glued up one end to make a pocket for the rsvp/directions/accommodations/reception cards.  There are no envelopes for the rsvp cards because we made them postcard size, and put a stamp on the back with the address.
The main invitation part measures 6x6.

Phew!

Catching Up

My two guys are watching Star Wars as I write this, so I thought I'd take a minute to catch you all up.  The past few weeks have been busy around here.  I finished 150 wedding invitations, 60 bridal shower invitations, prepped the baby's room for painting, and unloaded the same room for the carpet guy to put in new carpet.  Not to mention play dates, birthday parties, and family gatherings.  So my house is a mess because all the stuff that was in the room is now in various places around the house!  But the carpet is in, some of the baby furninture is in, and I've started laundering all things baby.  Now if this baby would just decide to come early, that would be fine with me!  She is killing me already, and I still have 3 weeks to go.  Not sure I'm gonna make it, lol!  But in spite of all the busyness, I've still managed to do some stamping for fun.  I'd have gone crazy without "my time".

Here's a card I made a while ago, based on a card from the new SU catty:
I stamped the sweet peas with vintage cream ink and colored in the entire thing with a copic.  It's a little more subtle IRL.  I also stamped a portion of the sweet pea on the berry sorbet tag.

My little guy had his fourth birthday last week, and boy was he excited!  It was so fun to watch him!
Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
stamps - YOF Sweet Pea, All About You
paper - kraft, berry sorbet, sweet blush, dark chocolate
ink - vintage cream, berry sorbet, chocolate, copic
acc - chocolate taffeta, dimensionals, piercer, photo corner punch

Papertrey Posse July Challenge

It's time for the Papertrey Posse group challenge for July!  Our hostess this month is Amy, and she challenged us with a color challenge:
Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist, Melon Berry, and Dark Chocolate

Here's what I came up with:
I started by deciding that aqua mist would be the main color and the others would be accent colors in varying degrees.  To make the flowers, I die cut some bloom nesties in two sizes, stamped them with the same text that is on the melon berry strip on the edge, cut in to create petals, and crumpled them up a lot.  Lots of crumpling works the layers loose, so I started peeling back layers of cardstock for a fuller look.  I glued the smaller flower on the larger and added an ocean tides button in the center.  Here's a closer look:

Everyone is welcome to play along, so come join the fun!

The Details:

1. Create a card using the colors provided below - Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist, Melon Berry, and Dark Chocolate (or something close if you don't have these on hand).
2. Use at least one PTI product on your card.
3. Post your creation to your blog on July 15th for our official Papertrey Posse Parade of Blogs!
4. On July 15th, after you have posted your card, stop by and sign Mr. Linky on the official Parade of Blogs July 2010 post.

Thanks for stopping by!
