MFT guest designer challenge

This month's MFT guest designer challenge had these requirements:

Valentine's theme
One Patterned Paper
Two Cardstock Colors(not including neutral base)

So I pulled out an old favorite layout that just worked perfectly with the requirements!  Love when it all comes together like that.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you had a great weekend!

MFTWSC4

For this week's MFTWSC, I flipped the sketch on it's side.  I tried to make this an "elegant" little girl card, and it must have worked because my 4-year old son looked over my shoulder and said, "That's so fancy, momma!"

VLV January #4

I finished all four January Viva la Verve sketches.  Here's more of that Pixielicious paper, isn't it darling?

I had a comment asking for clarification of the paper I used on the first card here, and it is Cosmo Cricket Material Girl.

RAK

My dear friend Lisa Henke sent me this card this week, and it was just the laugh I needed after my hubby lost his job two weeks ago.  Thanks, friend!  I am happy to report that he has found a new job until June, and we'll see what happens then.

SFYTT January

I've always liked Jen's sketches, but I never seemed to be able to complete them when it was a weekly sketch.  I'm so happy she switched them to monthly!  I got January's done:
The sentiment reads: Celebrate your birthday one present at a time.  I could not get it to photograph well AT ALL, as you can see.  The doggie stamp is actually from a Christmas set, and I pulled the sentiment from a birthday set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
stamps - Give a Little, Birthday Bunny (both Cat's Pajamas)
paper - kraft, white, poppy parade, amethyst, wasabi, in color prints
ink - black

MFTWSC2

I'm two for two doing this month's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch!  I did take some small liberties with the sketch.  I used some of my Christmas money to get two of the a la modes.  They are so cute!  I used the Miss You a Latte girl here, though anyone who knows me knows I don't drink coffee.  But I just love those cups, so I'm pretending there's hot chocolate in them, yummm!

I pieced most of the girl, but used my copics for her jeans and face/hair.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
stamps - Miss You a Latte a la mode
paper - kraft, pink, white, MME Beloved
ink - copics, memento
acc - corner chomper, nesties, scalloped border die, dimensionals, photo corner punch, ivory satin ribbon, aqua mist buttons

Rejected!!!

This was my first round entry into the Spellbinder's DT call,
and that's where it ended.
The card base is texturized with PTI's canvas impression plate, and I stamped polka dots on the flowers before I crumpled them and separated the layers.  The flower center is a rolled flower with a pearl.  I cut out a window and then embossed the next bigger size nestie on the kraft layer and popped it up over a vanilla panel I stamped with text background.  I think the rest of it you can figure out, but feel free to shoot me a question!

More Christmas Cards

Here's some Christmas cards I never got around to sharing:
this first one is actually an invitation I made for a friend who has an annual neighborhood Christmas party.

This was a rejected sample invitation, so I made it a Christmas card by substituting the sentiment:

cased this one from Maile Belles, just added the sentiment on a banner:

Something Fun!

I made these two cards for a guest designer spot in the December 2010 issue of the Norwegian cardmaking and scrapbooking magazine Ett trykk.  The guest designer spotlight was on the Clean and Simple style, and I was surprised and delighted to find myself included with other stampers that you would know:  Angie Tieman, Julie Lacey, Maile Belles, and Niki Estes!
They also sent me a copy of the magazine, and though I can't read
a word of it, I can enjoy the beautiful pictures!
