Teacher Thank You

This is the card I made for my son to give his kindergarten teacher at the end of the school year.  It was inspired by a card I have in my CASE files, and I don't know who the original artist is.

MFT Guest Design Contest - My Friend

MFT's Guest Designer Challenge was another sketch challenge this month,

 so I'm tossing my hat in the ring again.

Here is the sketch we had to work with:

And this is what I made:

My Friend

I pulled out Hot Cocoa Cutie from the a la mode line, colored her up and cut her out.  I added some "snow" in the lower right corner with Calico White spray, snowflake banners, a vellum layer behind her, and some hearts and bling.  I stamped "hello my friend" from Just My Type and punched out only the "my" with a heart punch.

Another angle: 

For the inside, I die-cut a snowflake, temporarily adhered it, and sprayed with Calico White again.  I then removed the snowflake mask and stamped the words.

I've been lurking around this company for a while, and I'm so glad to finally have a chance to try out their stuff!

Moving right along, here is the sketch for this month:

The set I chose to work with for my card today is the

Holly Jolly Die and Stamp Set.

I love the detail on the dies. And I now have a head start on Christmas cards!

After I adhered the tree, it occurred to me that I should have sprayed it with some white Mr. Huey mist so it looks snow covered.  Oh well, next time.
