SYSC #4
It's time for another ShowCASe Your Style Challenge! This week the challenge is to use at least one die cut. Easy Peasy, so I hope you'll join in!
And here is mine:
I stamped some light snowflakes (from Sparkle & Shine and Christmas Greetings) on the background, then stamped the pine boughs (Christmas Greetings) in green. I stamped the pine cones (Christmas Greetings) on a scrap, then cut them down as they were too large for the spot. I die cut "Christmas" (large Christmas word die) and stamped red stripes (Basic Backgrounds & Borders) on it. I adhered the diecut and then added the rest of the sentiment(Christmas Greetings).

Today the Whimsy DT members are hosting a friendship hop in honor of a special member of the Whimsy Stamps family, Simonne Clay. Simonne has been a fixture here at Whimsy for many years and we all just wanted to show our appreciation for all that she does for each of us and for sharing her amazing talent as an illustrator. We love you, Simonne!
I used the ruler and sentiment from Smarty Pants, designed by Simonne for Whimsy Stamps :)

SYSC #3
It's time for another ShowCASe Your Style challenge! We have a sketch for this one:
Here is what I made:
I started by stamping the stripes from Basic Backgrounds & Borders on a light gray base. I cut a circle, stamped the snowflake twice (from Sparkle & Shine), and used a copic marker to fill it in. I adhered it to the base, added the sentiment strip with the sentiment from Christmas Greetings, then added some stickles and a rhinestone to the snowflake.
Stop by the challenge blog for all the details on how to join in! Thanks for stopping by!

SCYS #3
We are up to challenge #3! It's another inspiration challenge, using this photo:
I went with the colors as my focus, and this is what I came up with:
I used Tremendous Triangles and Christmas Greetings. I stamped the merry in a rainbow of colors, added Christmas in black, and then stamped trees to fill up the bottom. I added a row of rhinestones under Christmas to finish it off.
I hope you'll play along, you can find all the details here on the challenge blog!

Have a Cool Yule
I put down the Christmas script die for my Clearly Whimsy card this week and pulled out this cute little guy from Penguin Fun (with his matching die)!
The snow bank is cut using the stitched border trio dies, then I stamped snowflakes from Sparkle & Shine on the card base, blue on blue, and versamark on the white. I embossed them with iridescent ice for some shine.
I cut a second layer of the snow bank for the focal, added the sentiment and penguin, and popped up the layer. The focal point layer is popped up. I cut a thin strip of pale plum paper, stamped the stitching from Basic Backgrounds & Borders, cut it in half and notched the ends to create little flags to set off the sentiment.

This week's challenge is an color challenge inspired by this photo:
Here's my card:
I alternated strips of gold shimmer paper and silver glitter paper on a base, then added a sentiment flag with my favorite large Christmas word die. The rest of the sentiment is from Christmas Greetings. I tied a black satin bow for the final detail.

Whimsy Snowflakes
For this week's Clearly Whimsy card, I broke out the snowflakes from Sparkle & Shine. I stamped them all over a blue piece with white ink. I put a diagonal flag strip stamped with the stripes from Basic Borders & Backgrounds on next. Of course I had to use that gorgeous scripty Christmas die again! I cut it several times from dark blue paper and glued them all together. I added the rest of the sentiment (from Christmas Greetings) and a clear snowflake from my stash. Star dust stickles went on my Christmas last, it's so gorgeous like that!

Clearly Whimsy Release Day 1
Hi everyone and welcome to the first sneak peek day of the Clearly Whimsy Stamps October 2014 release
Over the next 3 days we will reveal the new October 2014 Clearly Whimsy Stamps products. We are releasing 7 new clear stamp sets and 5 dies/die sets this week, and they will be available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store today and selected Whimsy Stamps retailers on Saturday.
This month we are thrilled to welcome Michelle Short and Lisa Henke as our Guest Designers. Welcome ladies! We are so happy that you are joining us for this release!
Today we are revealing the Penguin Fun 4x6” stamp set and Tremendous Triangles 4x6” stamp set, together with the coordinating Penguin Fun die set and the Tremendous Triangles die set. Hop on over to the Whimsy blog for more details.
So let's take a look at what I made with these sets. How cute are those penguins?!!! Adorable!
I used Tremendous Triangles and dies for this first card.
I cut a frame with my rectangle spellbinders, and added some vellum in it that I cut with the curved edge die from Stitched Borders Trio to mimic a snow bank. Added the trees and made a banner for the sentiment from a set you'll see in a couple days. The stitching on the banner is from Basic Backgrounds & Borders. The angle of the picture makes the banner look wonky, but it's symmetrical. I tied a red ribbon around the larger tree and added a gold star to the smaller one.
Now for a card using those oh-so-cute penguins!
I cut and stamped my penguins, then colored in the feet, beaks, and a little shadow on their eyes and bellies. I added the hat, earmuffs, and antlers before adhering them on the hill of snow cut with the wavy border from Stitched Border Trio again. I added some trees from Tremendous Triangles in the background. I was picturing these little guys rolling down a hill and landing in a heap, haha!

A Whole Lotta Happy
I made a cheery card today using my Clearly Whimsy stash!
I love tilted panels all of a sudden. They are so fun! I used the stitched straight border die on two of my panels, then stamped the sentiment from Happy Everything. I die cut several layers and colors of the layered flower, then cut some leaves free hand and added a little color to them. The row of stars is also from Happy Everything, and I put some black pearls on last.
