Birthday Hat

For my weekly Whimsy card, I made this quick and easy birthday card.  I was at a stamp convention last weekend, and saw a similar idea as a sample there. So the idea is not original to me, but I knew I could recreate it with my Whimsy stash!

Everyday Mini Sentiments
Glasses and Bracket die set
Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles
Tremendous Triangles die set

Whimsy Hello

I can't resist the cute little elephants in Sketched Elephants! So this little guy makes another appearance.  I cut him out, colored him, and made him the focal point against a frame and some polka dots. I tucked the large hello word die behind him.

Clearly Whimsy April Release, Last Day

Thanks for coming by this week to see the April Clearly Whimsy release!
We have one last day of inspiration for you.

I chose to use Baby Animals again, as I know several people who are expecting,
and now I have several cards ready for the joyous occasion!

I used the bunny this time, and watercolored her. I layered some panels and shapes at different angles, and I love how it turned out. Here's what I used:

It's day 4 of the Clearly Whimsy April release, and we have one set left to show you.  All new products are now available for purchase!

Introducing Hand-Lettered Thoughts:
I started by watercoloring an orange block.  After it dried, I stamped the main sentiment and stars on it.  I stamped the other parts of the sentiment on different colors of cardstock and glued them on.  I put the whole panel on a black base, and added some black pearls.

Clearly Whimsy April Release, Day 3

Welcome back to day three of the Clearly Whimsy April Release!  These new products are now available for purchase, go to the Whimsy Store here.  All info, including how you have a chance to win a prize, is available at the Whimsy Blog.

Today's peak includes Spring Wreath and its matching dies.
I started this card by creating a frame with Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles.  I stamped the wreath in a few colors of green ink, then put the flowers on that were cut and stamped.  The bow is popped up.  The sentiment was stamped under the wreath, and the birthday is die cut as well.  I added a row of pearls, then popped up the frame around everything.

Whimsy Release, Day 2

Welcome back to the April Whimsy Release!  All new products shown will be available to purchase Wednesday April 13 at 9am EST.  Check out the Whimsy Blog here, and Whimsy Store here.

Today we are showing Mom's Layered Flowers.

I started with a natural card base and stamped a few canvas spots on it (Distressed Backgrounds and Ink Splats).  I stamped the flowers and fussy cut them, and laid everything out where it would go.  The sentiment went on in black and gray inks on the white panel, and I underlaid a pink strip.  The flowers were attached last, and I put some sugar beads in the centers.

Whimsy April Release, Day 1

Welcome to day one of the April Whimsy Release!  Thanks for stopping by.
All new products will be available for purchase on Wednesday, April 13, at 9:00 am EST at Whimsy Stamps. You can find all the information about this release on the Whimsy Blog.

Today we are showing Baby Animals and its matching dies.
Isn't this little guy adorable?  I started by cutting, stamping, and coloring him, and cutting BABY.  I took a light blue base and stamped a plaid sort of pattern on it with Get In Line. The white layer was cut with Stitched Border Die Trio, and I laid the giraffe and BABY out so I could stamp the "sweet".  I adhered BABY on, added a twine/bow treatment, adhered the whole white piece down, and then popped up my little giraffe.

Whimsy Friend

I pulled out Hand-lettered Encouragement for this card. I started by inking up the branch and sprit zing it with water before stamping it on watercolor paper. After it was dry, I mounted it on my base and wrapped some twine in a circle and taped it down a bit. I put a silver glitter strip over it, and added the fussy cut friend with "my dear" on a small yellow strip.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you'll come back Monday as we start the Whimsy April release!

I used this adorable coffe cup in patterns for this week's sketch.  Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Friend

Hello, welcome back! I made a "friend" card using my Whimsy Stamps today. The Hello is white embossed using Stitched Alphabet Uppercase and the large word friend is die cut twice and stacked up.  I cut the edge with Stitched Border Trio and layered it on some patterned paper. I added a heart (Sketched Elephants) and some rhinestones.

Frantic Stamper April 1 Release

I've got two cards for you today, showing a few of the new dies that are now available at Frantic Stamper.  This release is titled Mom's Retro Kitchen.
I used Mom Round Vignette (FRA-DIE-09857) as the focal point of this first card.  The background is just watercolored stripes, and I matted the focal panel on vellum.
The sentiment is from Motherly Love (FRA-CL-045).
