Whimsy May Release, Day 3

It's the final day of the Whimsy Stamps May release, I hope you've enjoyed all the inspiration!
Go shopping HERE.

Today I am showing you Happy Birthday to You stamp set and Peony Flower die:

I started by cutting 2 of each size of flower layer, then sponging some pink ink on the edges (both sides).  I cut the leaves out once and sponged green ink on it's edges.  I built up the flower by glueing and curling in each layer, starting with the smallest in the center.  I stacked two small dimensionals up, stuck it in the flower center, and added the gem.  I cut a strip of red striped paper and adhered it to the edge of a white card base.  I layered on the gray and blue pieces and added the sentiment.  I glued on my flower and added some enamel dots to finish.

Whimsy Stamps May Release, Day 2

Welcome back to day 2 of the Whimsy Stamps May release! Sorry for the late post, it's exam week at school and it is ruling me right now.

Today I am showing Furever In Our Hearts stamp set and Furever Friends die set.
I started by stamping the canvas background (Vintage Backgrounds) twice in light blue ink on a white panel.  I stamped the paw prints in gray on top of that.  I cut out the heart twice, then combined it two have two different colors.  I cut out the FurEver from pink cardstock, and did some masking off to get the rest of the sentiment horizontal (embossed in white).  I laid everything out on my main panel and then adhered it, popping up the heart.  I then popped up the whole main panel on a white base. I added some crystal effects to the paw print last.

Happiest of Happy Birthdays

I made this card two weeks ago and just realized I forgot to post it!  The end of the school year and life in general is about to do me in.  Just keep swimming.....

Anyway, I made a birthday card using Big Balloon Celebrations from Whimsy Stamps.
I stamped the balloons and sentiment on a white panel, then used one of the Pierced Border Trio on all four edges.  I went over the balloons with clear sparkle marker for some shine, then popped up the whole main panel on a white card base.

Whimsy Thanks

Hello, friends!

I made this Thanks card for my Whimsy post this week:

I started by stamping and fussy-cutting the flower (Pretty Big Flowers), then positioned it on a white panel to see where I would stamp the leaves and sprigs.  After I had the greenery stamped, I added the sentiment and some random dots, also from Pretty Big Flowers. Next,I
stamped a mint green strip with Vintage Backgrounds, then mounted it on the white panel.
I added the twine bow, then used a big pop dot to adhere the flower. After I adhered the white panel to a kraft base, I added some copic shading and shimmer to the flower.

Whimsy April Release, Day 3

Welcome back to the last day of the April Whimsy release!  All products are available for purchase now at the Whimsy Store.

Today I am showing you Pretty Big Flowers stamp set.  This set contains flower outlines and fillers, plus a few sentiments.

My design was inspired by a card made by Dawn Woleslagle.  I stamped the flowers and their outlines in coordinating inks and a Hand-Stitched Rectangle before adhering it to a white base.  I added some diamond stickles to flower centers for some texture and sparkle.

I hope you've enjoyed this release, head over to the Whimsy blog and Facebook group for more inspiration!

Whimsy April Release, Day 2

Welcome back for another day of inspiration from the April Whimsy Stamps release.

Everything is already available for purchase at the Whimsy Store, and you can see what the rest of the team has made by going to the Whimsy blog or Facebook page.

Today I used Deepest Sympathy, a really lovely stamp set of all sentiments. There is a companion word die set as well.

I started by cutting a white Hand-Stitched Rectangle and stamping the wreath from Autumn Blessings in kraft ink on it.  I stamped and cut out the flowers and leaves and adhered them to the wreath.  The sentiment, from Deepest Sympathy, was stamped in dark brown ink.  I tied a double twine bow around the end of the panel before popping it up on a light blue card base.  I added white enamel dots (from Christmas Cheer) to the flower centers.

Whimsy April Release, Day 1

Welcome to day one of the Whimsy Stamps April Release!

Everything is already available for purchase, so you don't have to wait to get what you like!
You will find more inspiration at the Whimsy Blog and Facebook Group page.

Today I am showing you the new Magical Birthday Wishes stamp set and Birthday Wishes and Magical word die set.

I cut a panel using Hand-Stitched Rectangles dies and stamped a row of candles (Happy Everything) in black across the top. I colored in the white part of the striped candles with a gray copic.  I stamped the flames in coral and pink.  I die cut a Bold Banner and "magical" from the same green cardstock, but made "magical" stand out by covering it with Spectrum clear sparkle pen.  I stamped the sentiment (also from Magical Birthday Wishes in coral ink on a pink cardstock rectangle.  I laid all my pieces on the candle panel to space out where the Birthday Wishes should go, then stamped that in gray ink.  I adhered all the pieces on the candle panel, then popped that panel up on a white base.  I added diamond stickles to the flames last.

Whimsy Thanks

I pulled out some patterned paper and the Whimsy large word thanks die and made a quick card. I'm really trying to just use my paper, instead of "saving" it for the perfect project.

Whimsy So Thankful

For this week's Whimsy card, I made this sweet little butterfly thank you card.

I started by using the Butterfly stencil and inking the butterflies twice on a piece of watercolor paper (even though I didn't end up using any water).  I then stamped some bigger detailed butterflies on top (Flight of the Butterflies), along with the chicken wire (Lovely Lavender).  I adhered a strip of patterned paper down the right side of the main panel.  I cut the banner from Many Thanks Cardbuilder die set and stamping the sentiment on it (Autumn Blessings).  I added a few rhinestones, and adhered the banner on the card along with some silver cording.

Whimsy Friend

Hi there!  For my Whimsy card this week, I used Hand Lettered Encouragement.  I inked up the sprigs with Distress Inks, sprayed the stamp lightly with water, then stamped it on watercolor paper twice each time I inked it.  I adhered the sprig panel to a kraft base.  I used the same technique as the sprigs on "friend", cut it out, and popped it up on the main panel.  I white embossed the rest of the sentiment on matching cardstock, adhered the strips, and then used a few Summer Breeze enamel dots to finish the card.

When I saw this week's sketch, I immediately thought"doughnut" for the circle element. So that's what I went with, and kept it pretty simple.

Whimsy Release, Day 3

Welcome to the last day of the Whimsy Stamps February release.  I hope you've enjoyed the look at the new products!  Shop HERE and hit the blog for all the details HERE.

I am showing you Typography today.
I arranged the letters on three blocks, stamped the words and embossed in black first.  Then I went back and stamped and white embossed the rest of the background.  I blended on one color of Distress Ink (festive berries) for an hombre look.  I went over the hearts and the black embossing with spectrum glitter marker, and I noticed that it produced a shadow effect on the words.  Cool!  I trimmed the panel and adhered it on a white card base that I stamped with Get In Line.  Some random sequins finish it off.

Whimsy Release Day 2

Welcome to day 2 of the February Whimsy release! You can purchase all the new products right now at the Whimsy Store.  You can find all the details for the release on the Whimsy blog HERE.

Today I am showing you Purrfect Pals.  Isn't this little guy so sweet?
I stamped the kitty on a white base and colored it with copics, and then stamped it again just on the edge of a patterned strip.  I cut out the part that stamped on the patterned strip, and adhered it so it matched up with the colored kitty on the white base.  It looks like he's crouching on a rug.  I then stamped the sentiment, curving it on my block, then stamped a few paw prints along the edge of the patterned strip.

Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow for the last day!

Today, I am showing you a peek of Friendly Flowers.
I started by cutting a kraft piece on the diagonal and then tracing a pencil line along the edge of it on a white base so I had a guide for my stamping.  I stamped various flowers and grasses along that guide.  I stamped the kraft piece with a background stamp from Vintage Backgrounds and added the sentiment from Friendly Flowers.  I finished by adding a yellow flag strip and Summer Breeze enamel dots.

Whimsy Love

I can't stop playing with this Floating Hearts background and my new stash of Distress Inks! For this one, I white embossed the background first.  I then added some distress ink in three pinks on some acetate, added water, and put the embossed panel right on the acetate. It turned out pretty cool! After it dried, I added a sentiment from Hand-lettered Thoughts on a Bold Banner die cut. I cut the scripty love a few times, stacked them up, then added spectrum clear glitter marker on top.

MFT WSC 315

This sketch was perfect for the limited amount of time I had to create it. This was the first time I got to use the freebie HUGS, and it was so simple because of how the die is designed. One of my loveys will get this for Valentine's Day! Thanks for stopping by!

Whimsy January Release, Last Day

Today's the last day of the January Whimsy Stamps release, I hope you've enjoyed all the inspiration we've shown you!

My last card features Happy Sayings die set and Happy Sayings and In Stitches stamp sets:
I cut a panel of rustic white cardstock a  separate Happy frame.  I then used the Happy frame die to cut out the niche where the frame would sit.  I stamped the panel with In Stitches around the outside and the opening.  I stamped "everything" in blue ink on the Happy frame and attached it to the panel from the back.  I stamped and cut some flowers from Autumn Blessings (stamps and dies) in colors that matched my patterned paper and adhered them to my main panel.  I used Winter Wishes enamel dots from Whimsy on my flower centers. The entire main panel is popped up on a card base with patterned paper on it.

Today I am showing you a sneak peek of the stamp set You Are
and the new honeycomb die.

I made the background using distress inks in a rainbow pattern, and added several of the die cut honeycombs.  I adhered that panel to a white card base, and then white embossed the You Are on black cardstock.  I tied a triple bow on the end of it, and used pop dots to adhere it to my rainbow panel.  I stamped the amazing on pink cardstock and also adhered it using pop dots.

You might notice a nifty little storage caddy behind my card. It's my turn to share my review of the products I was sent.
Here's some info for you:
This week Whimsy has teamed up with Totally-Tiffany to bring you some fun product reviews of their awesome crating storage solutions. Here is the Pen and Ink Palace - Desk Maid.  It is a sturdy caddy that sits right on your desktop, and each "drawer" has a finger hole you use to pull it out.  I used my to store some accessories, embellishments, adhesive, paper swatches, mini ink cubes,
and some random pens.

I was also sent the Die Namic Die Storage
This is a sturdy plastic envelope for storing dies.

Inside the main holder are five tabbed pockets inside a sleeve.

Here you can see the five rows on each pocket, and the dies slip right in.
I've got most of my Whimsy dies now stored in these pockets, and it's nice that the whole system is self-contained, so if a die manages to slip out, it will stay inside the sleeve.
For some of my super small dies, I did cut a magnetic strip about 3/4" wide to stick them on before I put them on their row.  I have a pocket for word dies, a pocket for critters, a pocket for edgers, etc.  I'm very happy with this system, and grateful to Totally Tiffany for sending them to me!

Whimsy Love

For my Whimsy card this week, I used the Floating Hearts background and really tried to showcase it. I used two pink distress inks directly on the stamp, spritzed it with water, and put my paper gently to it. I got some really good blendy spots! I trimmed it after it dried, and adhered it to the right side of a card base.  I finished it with an embossed love from Hand Lettered Thoughts, some sequins, and a brush of Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen on some random hearts.

Love You So Much

Happy New Year!  Now that Christmas is over, it's on to the next holiday. I started this card by clear embossing Floating Hearts background onto watercolor paper, then rubbing on two pink distress inks. I then sprayed the panel with water to blend the inks and let it dry overnight. I then ironed off the clear embossing for a smooth panel. I trimmed it down to fit on a white base. I cut the LOVE from Cardbuilders Hearts of Love three times and stacked them up. I cut the heart from the same set and tied it to the LOVE with silver cording. I attached both, and added the rest of the sentiment from Hand Lettered Thoughts.
